Movin' Right Along

We finally found the blog. It took some heavy googling and a couple free ipods, but after a good fight and a clean make up, we've convinced it to come on home and spread the good word.

Everybody say hi.

And what a perfect time for it to come back. You see, our co-founder and resident Dan, Dan, is moving to Los Angeles tomorrow. (It's right next to Alhambra.) And we here at Birthday Boy think this is a great reason to have another contest! So here's the crack:

Tell us when he gets there. Or, predict when he gets there, don't just wait for him to get there and say something. Tell us when you think he'll roll into the streets of Los Angeles.

We're working on the closest actual time, so we'll need a date and time. Keep in mind that he'll be in the Pacific Time Zone, so that's what we're going by.

The Stats
Driver: Dan Samiljan
Age: 22

Car: Hyundai
Model: Elantra
Year: 2001
Color: Taupe

Time of Departure: 8/19/06 @ 5 A.M. Eastern Time (2 A.M. Pacific)
Temperature: High 78F
Wind Speed: South @ 10 - 15 mph
Precipitation: 20%

Contest Rules
One submission per player, maximum of four players per household. This contest will remain open until 8/23/06. The prize will be announced closer to the deadline.

We will keep you updated with a live feed via Satellite, which you can access by clicking Dan's head in the top right corner

Send your submission to:

On behalf of everyone here at Birthday Boy, I'd like to wish Dan a good drive to California. (Right next to L.A.)

And as always, keep your eyes out for a Taupe Elantra.

BIFF and the Contest Results

Now that we all know David Blaine is alive and well, I think we can survive an update.

Any of you that have stopped by in the past couple of days would have noticed a couple changes, mainly that we have taken A Brief Case down. I know, I know, but...

It's been selected for the 2006 Boston International Film Festival!

Big stuff. It'll be showing on June 8th at 7:30, followed by D.B. Sweeney's directorial debut, Dirt Nap - so come watch it on the big screen! The AMC Loews in Boston Common. Be there. We'll share our popcorn.

The second change would be a fairly large bunch of bananas on the table. We're not entirely sure how they got there, but Will stumbled in late last night and - BAM. Bananas.

I blame Katie Doherty of Stoneham, Massachussetts, for winning the first ever Birthday Boy Contest! Katie has won an exclusive All-Access pass to and its affiliates. Congratulations Katie!

For those of you unaware of the contest, now's a good time to hop on the newsletter and be ready for the next one. This week's problem involved Will, Five Dollars, and Having No Idea What to Spend it On.

Thanks to everyone who participated, now Will has many plans for the next five dollars that come his way.

That's it for now. Thanks for breathing.

Hey kids! Do you know what time it is? It's 11:30 am! So let's put up a new movie, ok? Too late, Craig beat you to it. We proudly present his latest: "Water on the Knee."

And don't forget to sign up for our Newsletter, which Newsweek calls "possible copyright infringement." We'll be sending out a newsletter tomorrow morning, so sign up now so you can get all the juicy Birthday Boy gossip that we can't print here. I mean we could, but then what good is a newsletter, right?

Here's a sneak preview of tomorrow's newsletter: "Dear Birthday Boys and Girls," "Morgan finishing his thesis film," "first official Birthday Boy Contest," and "George Lucas." Intrigued? Sign up, won't you?

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy.

Thanks to everyone for letting me know the movie was down. We're experiencing some technical difficulties, but it should be up and fully loaded by this afternoon.

We're currently hacking the mainframe.

EDIT: Fixed.

It's happening...

Seeing how this is my first entry, I'd just like to say that I'm glad to finally take an actual part in the upkeep of the site. I'm definately lacking in my hacker skills, but thankfully Kregg is an internet magician. So far Kregg has made our production team not only look better than we could have imagined, but we are aslo starting to gather some strong support from all you fans because of the great work done on the site. The man deserves a swedish bath.

BUT on to the important stuff.

A Brief Case is now up for your viewing pleasure since the sci/fi fest is officially over.
And what's that you said...IT WON THIRD PLACE??!!
Yes my children, the first birthdayboy/el matador collab has made the top 3 films out of about 60 other entries. It is definately something to celebrate since it was our longest and most involved shoot as of yet.

On that note, check out el matador as well to give them some support.

The past couple of weeks has been very good to birthday boy, seeing how Dan is in L.A. right now via the Redstone film festival, basking in the warmth of Hollywood Boulevard. Exciting stuff is a-happening, but I'll let Dan explain when he gets back and the dust settles.
Enough for now, but make sure to check out our first official award winning film, A Brief Case, co-starring yours truly.

Also, since this is a BLOG and you SHOULD be commenting, I'll throw out a discussion topic... is hosting yet another contest...SUPERHERO FEST.

Any ideas, questions, or already written scripts? What type of hero flick should we at birthday boy tackle if we join?

Go's fun...

Alright... So the move has been made, the ice has been broken, and I think things are going to be just fine. I'd like to welcome everyone to our new home, there's plenty of space for all of you.

I think we'll jump right into the news, as it's been an exciting week for Birthday Boy. We're very proud to announce that Dan's co-production "We're Going to the Zoo" has taken First Prize at this year's Redstone Film Festival! I'll wait for Dan to fill you in on the rest, but here's an interview with him to tide you over.

Next on the festival circuit is the Birthday Boy/El Matador co-production, "A Brief Case," which has been entered into the DVXuser Sci-Fest! Due to contest rules, we aren't allowed to post the film from anywhere else until the contest is through, so for a full list of the entries check out here.

We have several new movies lined up for you, so we'll start with a little something back from '04...
